Carnival Kids Steel Orchestra

“They’re talented, energetic, and look fabulous in Hawaiian shirts … according to WKBW”  The acclaimed Carnival Kids Steel Orchestra (CKSO) is coming to 14 Holy Helpers to stage a free concert which will be open to the public.  The date of the event is Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. They will be performing under a large tent that will be set up in front of the Parish Hall at 1345 Indian Church Road near Union in West Seneca, NY.  Everyone is welcome … bring a lawn chair for your seating comfort.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  This concert is a family oriented, alcohol free event that will kick-off the 14 Holy Helpers Summerfest 2018 weekend.

If you have never heard of the CKSO then you are in for a treat.  They play a set of instruments that trace their origination to islands in the Caribbean.  The instruments bring a Caribbean ambiance to songs that range from show tunes to the Beatles.  The band is based at Lancaster High School. Approximately 30 young musicians comprise the band which is made up of students ranging from the 8th through 12th grades.

Bring the family to this no-charge event. Sit in your lawn chair.  Enjoy the music played by this truly talented group of young musicians.
